Treating synthetic latex mattress does not need to be tiring since this type of mattress is typically low maintenance. However, you must be careful while doing the cleaning so that you do not damage the mattress. Follow some instructions below to treat your synthetic latex mattress, or as some parties name it; memory foam mattress.
- Prepare your cleaning tools such as a large tube, a cloth, and mild detergent.
- Clean the mattress pad from any visible dirt. Pour a little drop of cleansing detergent into a damp cloth then use it for cleaning the surface of the pad. Since the pad is stain resistant, just a small attempt is needed to do this step. One important point is not to scrub the pad back and forth lest you ruin the foam.
- Prepare a tub of lukewarm water to wash the pad. Pour the cleansing detergent into the water, swirl it carefully so that you do not create suds. Dip the rolled pad into the water then squeeze it several times to absorb them and release it back so the dirt comes out.
- To get rid of all the remaining detergent, refill the tub with clean water then run it on the synthetic latex mattress. Squeeze the mattress to emit any detergent residue from it. It will be nice to do this under running water; otherwise, you should fill and refill your tub a few times.
- Squeeze the synthetic latex mattress so as much water can be released. You should never twist it anyway or you will damage the structure of the pad. Once you think the squeezing is enough, hang the pad on the clotheslines and use clothespins to hold it. Put it under the sunlight until it gets dry.
Treating synthetic latex mattress is much easier than taking care of natural latex mattress. This could be one thing to consider when you are choosing the best latex mattress in store. With a good maintenance and regular treatment, synthetic mattress will have prolonged life.
